Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra is a 12-piece explosion of righteousness blending New Orleans party music, Soul in the style of Ray Charles and Al Green, a good helping of jam-bandy Roots Rock and a splash of upbeat (non-religious) Gospel into a feel-good gumbo of love. The band released its debut CD in 2009 to rave reviews (see press on page 2) and accolades (“I Won’t Be That Man” was selected as finalist in the prestigious John Lennon Songwriting Competition).
In the band’s short history they have already made a big splash in the NYC music scene, sharing the stage with New Orleans stalwarts such as the Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, Bonerama, the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars and Eric Lindell. The band has sold out legendary venues such as the Highline Ballroom (seated show), drew over 400 on a Monday night at BB King’s and recently completed its first foray into New Orleans itself, playing 13 shows in 12 days during Jazz Fest, garnering enough buzz to get an exclusive interview and regular rotation on WWOZ - New Orleans’ premier jazz & blues radio station and co-sponsor of Jazz Fest.
Brother Joscephus and the Love Revival Revolution Orchestra is a family-friendly act with an incredibly broad range of appeal. The music legitimately hits home with all age groups from 2 to 102. BroJo fits in perfectly at outdoor festivals, sit-down theaters or the most raucous of roadhouses. The power of the music and the universality of the message makes the band a bonafide hit at any venue. Brojo prides itself on being reliable... and undeniable!
